I am a child of Africa.

I was born in Arusha, Tanzania in Africa below the slopes of Mount Meru and her majestic neighbour Kilimanjaro. My school years where spent at Arusha School and then at the International School Moshi. My childhood days are filled with memories of having glorious fun at our family's coffee plantation called “Maswere” and numerous holidays with grandparents and family at Lake Manyara, Mombasa, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

During the 70's my parents left Tanzania for greener pastures in South Africa, first in Durban and eventually to Johannesburg. During my 30 years in South Africa, I developed an intense love for this “Rainbow Nation”, from the Drakensberg, Mpumalanga (Eastern Transvaal) , our Wild Coast, the Garden Route to our beautiful mother city of Cape Town.

I studied Fine Arts in Durban, where I ventured into the world of photography, loving the hours in the darkroom developing predominately black and white photos.

In recent years I have gone back to live in Asiago, northern Italy where my ancestors originated....a beautiful but diverse and difficult country....perhaps more so than Africa. I have a huge love for Europe and the diverse beauty she offers, and this continues to inspire me to use the magic of light and capture what MY eye sees and share it with the rest of the world.

Sono una figlia dell'Africa.

Sono nata in Tanzania, ad Arusha ai piedi del Monte Meru e del maestoso vicino Kilimanjaro. Ho passato l'infanzia tra la scuola di Arusha e quella Internationale di Moshi.

Ricordo gli intensi momenti di gioia passati nella piantagione di caffè di famiglia chiamata “Maswere” e le innumerose vacanze trascorse sul Lago Manyara, a Mombasa in Kenya, sulla piana di Serengeti e il cratare di Ngorongoro.

Negli anni '70 i miei genitori si sono trasferiti in Sud Africa prima a Durban e poi a Johannesburg. Nei trent'anni passati in Sud Africa ho sviluppato una intensa passione per questo grande paese arcobaleno con le Drakensberg Mountains (Monti del Drago), la Wild Coast, la zona Mpumalanga (Eastern Transvaal), la famosa Garden Route ela meravigliosa città madre di Cape Town.

Ho studiato Belle Arti a Durban e maturato la passione per la fotografia durante le lunghe ore passate in camera scura a sviluppare le foto in bianco e nero, scoprendo la dimensione della luce.

Recentamente sono tornata alle mie radici, in Italia.....un paese magnifico ma differente e difficile, forse anche più difficile dell'Africa. L'Europa e la sua incredibile bellezza mi affascina sempre di più, per tutto quello che offre. 

Tutto questo continua ad essere una straordinaria fonte di inspirazione, una occasione magnifica per usare la magia della luce, catturare ciò che vedo, e condividerlo col resto del mondo.

La mia strada è la fotografia.
